TABLE FAN (RED PANTS)

This design was named by the Igbo of south-eastern Nigeria. The design is to acknowledge the presence of the cooling effect of fans in the hot climate of Africa. The design became popular when the electric fan was introduced to Nigeria to cool down the body faster than the hand fans that were being used before its arrival. The table fan motif is depicted as big and arranged in a half drop repeat method on the fabric. The spaces surrounding the fans are clusters of colored small dots to give a perfect effect for the fan motif on the fabric. Some spaces are depicted with rhythmic curved lines in the movement to give a perfect effect on the fan motif.
